One of my favorite WWII airplanes. Just thinking about sitting behind this demon Rolls-Royce Merlin C, V-12, 990 hp churning out so much power is intoxicating! I would give anything to fly one. Alfred Price gives a concise reference book on the aces who flew these early Mark I/II Spitfires in the first years of the war. These planes played a very important role in the Battle of Britain knocking out a many German airplanes with their superior speed and agility. This book is crisp and concise in explaining this beautiful airplane. The book is full of highly colorful photo's and there are several pages of aircraft profiles which are great for model builders. A great addition to the libraries of WWII aviation buffs.
