This legendary Leica M3 (Serial 1139810) has just returned from an extensive restoration and repainting process by the world-renowned Cameraworks-UK. The camera and lens have been expertly repainted to replicate the sought-after look of a well-used vintage black paint Leica M3. It has not been used since restoration and is in superb working condition.

Extensive Restoration Details:

This camera underwent a meticulous mechanical and optical overhaul:

• Mechanical: Dismantled and cleaned; baffle repainted matt black with new plush strips; main drum, rollers, and guides lubricated.
• Shutter & Transport: Slow-speed escapement ultrasonically cleaned; slit width and tensions reset; new brake friction disc fitted; flash sync contacts reset.
• Rangefinder Rebuild: Main prism stripped and re-cemented; new Silver beamsplitter applied via physical vapour deposition; prism components reassembled with UV cure optical adhesive (NOA61).
• Calibration: Final calibration of vertical, infinity, and close-focus alignment performed on specialized jigs.
• Finish: Repainted in a Reverse Panda style using classic gloss enamel, then carefully cut back and brassed for an authentic vintage aesthetic.
