Faults are as follows:
Needs new hard drive
Motherboard is faulty (according to the IT place I took it, they didn't go into how it could be fixed).
Laptop powers up,but gets stuck on the Logo/boot screen.
Parts that are still salvageable:

Keyboard
Touch pad
Battery still has good life in it
Can supply a charging cable.
Cd/dvd drive
