Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (1864-1901) was a French painter and printmaker known for his distinctive style and iconic depictions of Parisian nightlife in the late 19th century. Despite being physically disabled due to a childhood accident, he immersed himself in the bohemian atmosphere of Montmartre, where he found inspiration in cabarets, dance halls, and brothels.

Toulouse-Lautrec's art captured the vibrant energy and essence of his subjects, often portraying the performers, dancers, and patrons of the Moulin Rouge and other establishments. His works revealed a deep understanding and empathy for the marginalized individuals of his time.

Beyond his artistic talent, Toulouse-Lautrec's life was marked by struggles with alcoholism and health issues, which contributed to his untimely death at the age of 36. Despite his short life, his artistic legacy remains influential, and he is remembered as one of the most important figures in the development of modern art.
