The Best Car in the World", that is was what the Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost was called in its time. Built from 1907-1926 the chassis alone weighed 1 ton. Because it was so smooth and quiet, it got the nickname "Silver Ghost". In the early days of last century, motor cars were very noisy. In contrast, Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost had a very refined powertrain such that vibration was virtually eliminated.
Rolls Royce made its cars as strong as possible without considering weight, size and price. This allowed the Silver Ghost to set many long-distance running records. It was even converted to armoured military vehicles during the first World War 1, serving the troops in Middle East and Africa, including the famous Lawrence of Arabia.

LESNEY MATCHBOX (1953-1982): Lesney was a British manufacturing company responsible for the conception, manufacture, and distribution of die cast toys under the Matchbox name. The company existed from 1947 until 1982. Lesney was founded on 19 January 1947 as an industrial die-casting company by Leslie Smith and Rodney Smith. The name "Lesney" was an acronym from both partners' (who were not related by blood) names. They had been school friends and served together in the Royal Navy during World War II. Matchbox is a popular toy brand which was introduced by Lesney Products in 1953, and is now owned by Mattel Inc, which purchased the brand in 1997. The brand was given its name because the original die-cast Matchbox toys were sold in boxes similar to those in which matches were sold. The Lesney-Matchbox brand range ceased production in 1982 making these cars very collectable today.
