The Spring 1992 issue of Gulliver's World announced the arrival of the model Forget-Me-Not Cottage (listed separately) and told the beginning of the story. We learn of how a sweet little old lady lived there and tended to her garden, her favourite flowers being the forget-me-nots. The narrator, a male badger named Ben, described in great detail the serenity and beauty of the place, not to mention the hospitality of the old woman. Sadly, we come to realise that this simple cottage had been empty for over 2 years and that the weather and lack of maintenance had taken its toll.
Nowhere were we told that this was only the beginning of the story, but at Lilliput Lane, there are always happy endings. The Cottage was brought back to life in 1992 and we learned that a young couple due to be married had purchased the cottage and were already in the process of completely restoring it. Even the old Austin, which sat derelict, rusted and under creepers was now in the repair shop. The restored Cottage was named Heaven Lea Cottage and issued as the Collectors Club Special Edition for 1993.
