On auction is this upmarket vintage late 70's SAR "TRANS KAROO" train set in good operational condition. The set consists of: 1 x Class 5E Electric locomotive with complete panto-graphs (new aftermarket springs) in very good running condition with old style Lima couplings and factory fitted directional lights. This unit was fully tested, lubricated and operates well in both directions. Nothing seems to be missing from this loco, paintwork in very good condition; 1 x " JOHANNESBURG" passenger coach with double bogeys and metal wheel sets, Lima couplings. 1 x "SABIE" restaurant coach, with double bogeys and metal wheel sets, Lima couplings. 1 x Baggage van with double bogeys and metal wheel sets, Lima couplings; 1 x transformer/speed control good working condition; 1 x Oval track with manual turnout and coal bunker track end; No corrosion on these models. The only paint damage to this set is a few light scratch on the roofs. (see red circle) Overall, it is in very good condition for its age. This will be an ideal Christmas present for a young lad.
