LIMITED EDITION OF THE 1ST COMIC FEATURING BATMAN WHICH WAS PUBLISHED IN MAY 1939

Between 1974 and 1979, DC Comics published some really great Golden Age reprints called Famous First Editions.  These very collectible comics were unique in that they reprinted every detail (including ads, etc.), cover to cover, of the key DC Golden Age books.  They were different from the originals because (1) they were larger than their Golden Age counterparts, and (2) they each had an outer cardboard cover that clearly identified the book as being a reprint and “limited collectors edition”.  However, with the outer cardboard cover removed, these books could in every respect be passed off as an original except for the larger size.

 On auction is a 1974 reprint of the May, 1939 comic book introducing Batman to the public. This issue features the original comic book reprinted complete with all the original advertising. It's been read over a few times and has a few wrinkles. All the pages are there.
