Linn Ware globular rounded vase in sea green glaze circa 1940's

Offered for sale is an attractive small-medium sized Linn Ware studio ceramic vase of  a rounded , bulbous shape with  large round aperture. This is a hand made item , hand thrown from a red bodied clay on a potters wheel and glazed in a lovely dark sea green mottled glaze, flecked with brown and celadon glaze. The vase is signed on the base with the Linn Ware studio name hand painted. Linn Ware ceramics were made between the early 1940's and early 1960's from a studio in Cullinan Olifansfontein and are highly collectible items, widely regarded as being exemplary of the best studio ceramics made in South Africa in the first half of the 20th Century. Dimensions: height 12cm ; width lateral at the shoulder of the vase 13cm ; base 8.10cm ; top open aperture 8.5cm .
