Linn Ware miniature lidded condiment jar with handle-circa 1940

Offered for sale is a rare and unusual miniature  Linn Ware condiment jar with a fitted stopper and applied strap handle. The piece is glazed in the iconic turquoise/sea-green colourway with traces of russet brown colour accents on the top rim,stopper and handle. The jug has a bulbous body and elegant tapering neck with a strap handle applied on the side. It is in good condition and is marked twice with the studio name Linn Ware painted on the base in white oxide as well as an imprinted hut or lidded jar mark which was used circa 1949-1942 when the Linn Ware studio was formed out of the preceding Ceramic Studio workshops on the same premises in Cullinan ,Olifantsfontein.

Dimensions : height including stopper 13.5 cm ; width including handle 9cm  ; diameter of base 4.5cm ; diameter of top aperture 3cm ; diameter of lower bulbous body 8cm .
