Linn Ware studio ceramic footed fruit bowl in turquoise /teal green glaze circa 1940's

Offered for sale is an attractive Linn Ware South African studio ceramic fruit bowl with a stepped and footed base. The bowl is a hand-made/hand -thrown piece with a pale mottled and streaked turquoise/teal green glaze. The bowl is earthenware made from red bodied clay.  The base is signed with the Linn Ware LW logo enclosed in a circle stamped into the clay with a lug. The body of the bowl is bulbous and convex with a wide aperture. The stepped foot of the bowl perfectly compliments the shape. The condition is good however there are faint scratches on the interior from use and light staining on the interior rim which looks like a water mark. The piece was probably used as a planter for a pot plant . 

Dimensions are : height 11.5cm  ;diameter of top aperture 17.5cm  ;diameter of the base 11.5cm ;  width at the midpoint of the bowl 18cm .
