Livingstone Mint 1oz Fine Silver * PROOF *

Here is a splendid proof silver bullion coin from the Livingstone mint. The obverse shows the Scottish explorer and missionary David Livingstone, and the reverse the sable antelope of Southern Rhodesia. Silver 97.5%; Mass 31.9; Diameter 36mm. Contains exactly one ounce of fine (pure) silver. These coins were intended to be Rhodesia’s answer to our Kruger rand. However, they enjoyed only a limited success and not that many were struck. Each coin comes protected within a hard-plastic capsule. It is becoming a rare and sought after collector’s item.
