LLADRO MARKS: In 1960 the incorporation of the word "Spain" was a clear indicator of the birth of Lladro's Porcelain export business. In 1971, a back stamp was created to link science to art, the basis for creation in porcelain, by joining an ancient alchemy symbol with a stylized version of a very popular flower in Valencia known as the "bell flower". This flower was incorporated in tribute to nature, the origin of clay, and to the Spanish region where Lladro was born. The Lladro name was placed under the flower symbol as a final touch to create a forerunner of today's back stamp. As of 1974, the bright blue logo, the back stamp that certified theporcelain as a true Lladro figurine began to be applied using a small chip placed over the base while it was painted. In 1986, the logo was redesigned. The modifications mainly affected the alchemical symbol, which was simplified, and the typeface used for the logo, which acquired a more stylized shape, maintained down to the present.

LLADRO (1953-present): Hand crafted in Valencia, Spain, Lladró figurines are world-renown for their unique beauty and painstaking attention to detail. Lladró is a relatively new porcelain maker, having started in the 1950s, but the whimsical figurines have captured the worlds imagination. Designed in glossy, pastel colors, Lladro figurines embody romanticism and endearing human emotion that resonate with collectors around the world. While many Lladro pieces are cherished parts of household living rooms or the prized possessions of collectors, some of the most intricate pieces grace prestigious museums. Lladro was founded in 1953 when Juan, Jose, and Vicente, three brothers born of local farmers and endowed with great artistic talent, formed a small family company in the Valencian village of Almacera, Spain. Since then, Lladro has undergone an amazing metamorphosis from an artisan workshop to a huge firm of international scope enjoying continual growth. The company management has remained in the hands of the Lladro family, the owners of the firm, since its inception. The creative team started out by adapting styles from past eras, but it was not long before certain characteristics appeared that would soon shape what was to become the unique Lladro style. NAO:Nao is a separate line of figurines created by Lladro. It first originated in 1968 under the name Rosal. It is intended to be simpler and more modest in design than regular Lladro figurines at that time. Soon its style became the defining characteristic style of Lladro the world over instantly recognisable when seen.
