This is an extremely rare dual line magneto telephone. It was designed to operate on two different party lines.
Pictured is an ornate switch which allowed the user to answer or call on one or the other line.
There are two sets of gongs differently sized. One set rings at a higher pitch than the other so that the user would be able to distinguish between the two lines when answering and switch to the appropriate one using the switch just below the upper bell set.
There is an eyeball indicator on the top of the phone the will operate if the line selected is busy.
The telephone works except for the eyeball indicator. The wires to it have been broken off but can very easily be restored.
The phone has its original silk and cotton handset cord. The broomstick handset has the year 1893 embossed on the transmitter.
