 LONG ART DECO STERLING SILVER PENDANT SET WITH MOTHER OF PEARL AND FRAMED IN MARCASITES. 39CM CHAIN.

This unusual Art Deco sterling silver pendant is a real find! Exhibiting all the characteristics of Art Deco - long, slim, geometric design with repeated chevron shapes, it is elegant and classic. Central to the piece is a smooth rectangular piece of mother of pearl with beautiful iridescence, sitting proud of the the slightly curved sterling silver base. Around the mother pf pearl is a detailed, decorative border with nubbed edging and a row of well-faceted round cut marcasites. Above and below are two chevrons, each with openwork in between them, similarly detailed. At 80mm long x 12mm wide, the pendant is big and noticeable without being overwhelming. It hangs from a simple 39cm sterling silver chain. The piece weighs 8.85 grams. Please note, it is a beautifully handcrafted art deco design style, not vintage art deco itself.
