 DOUBLE STRAND PEARL NECKLACE WITH BLACK SPINEL TASSEL. GOLD-HUED STERLING SILVER FACE PENDANT

This gorgeous piece features a double strand pearl necklace; the upper strand has spinel beads in between the Baroque pearls, which alternate in size - a smaller followed by a larger pearl, which is then repeated. The lower strand is even, matching pearls, ending in a fascinating golden-hued pendant that is a whimsical creation of a woman's face, with an enamelled multicoloured flower on either side, each with a central pink ruby bezel set in the middle of the petals. The woman's hair is lightly textured, and is used as a design element, creating openwork swirls that end at the bottom with a large baroque pearl. Below the pearl is a magnificent tassel created with shiny, faceted black spinel beads that has small round cut pink rubies inset in the bauble of the tassel. The tassel measures 12,5cm long x 51mm wide, and the necklace measures 47cm (upper strand) and 51cm (lower strand). The piece weighs a heavy 71 grams, which ensures that it sits flat against the chest and hangs well. A magnificent show of real pearls with a whimsical design feature.
