This is a book of memoirs of Isak Dinesen (Baroness Karen Blixen) of her life in Africa. The memoirs are recreated by her old majordomo Kamante, the hero of her classic Out of Africa. Here are renderings of the fable taught by Dinesen in her Farm School, and illustrated by Kamante's watercolours. As well there are never-before-published photos from Dinesen's collection, from her borther Thoma and from Denys Finch-Hatton. Afterword by Jacqueline Onassis. A heavy book.
