HISTORY OF Lucia Ware/ Boksburg East Potteries (BEP) / Vermont / Disa / Joy-China 1945 - 1959:

SOUTH AFRICAN GLAZING COMPANY was first established. Afterwards subsidiaries BEP was formed and under that two subsidiaries LUCIA WARE and JOY CHINA. Each did different wares. BEP marked wares were initially only on white tea pots and jugs but later followed the LUCIA WARE styling which predominately made ornaments and vases from the onset. This is the kicker though which causes all the confusion: ALL of the above...shared moulds between them.  (Source: Scorched Earth by Wendy Gers)
