The Design

The obverse displays the circular Argor-Heraeus logo on top and the bars information right under it. The inscriptions read; Switzerland, 1g, Fine Gold, and 999.9, which stand for the country of origin, weight, metal content, and purity. On the bottom, there is the serial number and the assayers mark.

The reverse features the Kinebar Technology, which consists of imprinting holographic elements onto the substrate of the bars surface, so it changes colors as the bar moves.

The Mint

The company started its activities in 1951 as Argor SA in Switzerland. Bought by the UBS - Union Bank of Switzerland in 1973 and later a joint venture with German Heraeus Group, the mint became Argor-Heraeus in 1986.

Over the years, Argor-Heraeus conquered its space in the bullion market. Meeting the demands from the LBMA, the mint became a key supplier for banks and bullion houses worldwide.
