Pretty and dainty Spark model of the 1965 F1 championship winning Lotus 33 driven by the legendary taciturn Scot, Jimmy Clark.
The Lotus 33 was an upgraded Lotus 25 which had won the championship with Clark in 1963. Both these cars were revolutionary monocoque construction instead of space frame - the first cars of this construction in F1 and templates for all F1 cars in the future. They also featured lie-down seating position to reduce frontal area - another Chapman innovation that became standard.
Tiny and light, they were both trend setters and the quickest F1 cars from 1962-1965.
This model captures the simple and pure F1 shape of that era. Finished in plain British Racing Green with yellow stripe and Lotus logos. Beautiful!
In mint condition and with its original box also perfect.
From my private collection more historic F1 cars to follow.
