About the Artist and the painting

Loui Jover is an Australian painter and artist known for his artwork in ink wash paintings on vintage book pages. Jover started his work on art in his childhood, but did not start public art until 1989, when he joined the Australian army as an illustrator and photographer. Ink wash painting, also known as literati painting, is an East Asian type of brush painting of Chinese origin that uses black inkthe same as used in East Asian calligraphy.

This amazing print showcases one of Jover's amazing pieces, and is something a little different from our other Jover pieces. This is a beautiful pencil sketch, and rather than being made on book paper, the back ground is plain, except for tear which shows sheet music underneath.
