Lovely antique hallmarked 9k gold garnet and diamond brooch. The lovely new moon shaped brooch was manufactured in Chester in 1912-1913, and is hallmarked J.G. The gold has a lovely rich colour, unlike the light 9k gold of today. It is lined with 13 garnets and 12 small diamonds. The garnets range from large in the middle progressively to small on the ends, while there are two diamonds in the first three gaps between garnets from the centre. The brooch has a safety chain and pin. The total weight of the brooch is 4.1 g. The brooch is in great condition, and the pin works perfectly. A lovely buy.
