For sale is this lovely vintage Art Deco Japanese Komai style cigarette case inlaid with a beautifully detailed scene of a waterwheel and mill with a mountain in the background, probably Mt Fuji, and on the reverse a smaller scene of a temple amongst pine trees. Both sides are bordered with an intricately detailed pattern around the edges in gold. Made of iron and inlaid with gold and silver, these were very popular in the Art Deco period. Opens and closes well with the hinge in good working order. Nice tidy example and ready for display. It measures 10.5cm across and 7.8cm down and it is 1.5cm thick.
