A lovely antique brass container/planter bowl in the Art Nouveau style, with patterned handles. It was made in Holland by the famous KMD factory. Diameter: 24 cm; width with handles: 36 cm; height: 19 cm. KMD stands for Royal Metal Industry (formerly J.N. Daalderop & Sons), Tiel, Holland. Founded in 1898, the company manufactured household items in the style of the new art, a tight variant of Art Nouveau. The company featured dinnerware, serving pieces, trays, boilers (such as samovars), and petroleum and gas lamps. Many products were exported. KMD operated up to the beginning of the second world war.
