Ernst Bohne Söhne first started porcelain decoration in 1848, only installing a kiln for the manufacture of porcelain in 1850. He was a former employee of the Meissen porcelain factory where he acquired the skills and knowledge necessary to produce high-quality ceramics. When Ernst died in 1856, his sons Gustav, Karl and David took over the company as Ernst Bohne & Söhne. They were a prominent German ceramic manufacturer that operated in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

The peasant girls stamped with Capodimonte makers mark by Ernst Bohne Söhne has a tiny chip off one of her Pinky fingers but given her age is in a lovely condition. She measures 130 mm in height and 40 mm in width

The peasant boy stamped with the Golden anker, and EB (Ernst Bohne Söhne) Makers mark has a bit of a chip off the hat at the back left (that can be easily restored) and is otherwise in good condition. He measures 139 mm in height and 40 mm in width
