Isabel Thompson was born in 1962, Stutterheim, Eastern Cape. She works as a general practitioner in Johannesburg, where she lives with her husband and two children. In 2001, Thompson had a solo exhibition at the Goethe Institute, and she has shown her work in various group exhibitions. She was a finalist in the 1992 Skotaville Art of Africa competition, and she has collections all over South Africa.
On its 30th anniversary, the Legal Resources Centre is auctioning Art & Autographed Books. Artists include William Kentridge, Thea Soggott, Vusi Mfupi, and many more. Authors include Nelson Mandela, George Bizos, Nadine Gordimer, and many more.
The Legal Resources Centre is an independent, client-based, non-profit public interest law clinic which uses law as an instrument of justice. It works for the development of a fully democratic society based on the principle of substantive equality, by providing free legal services for the vulnerable and marginalised, including the poor, homeless, and landless people and communities of South Africa who suffer discrimination by reason of race, class, gender, disability or by reason of social, economic, and historical circumstances.
