Mingwe private game lodge is set in the Mabalingwe Game reserve ab out 28km west of Bela-Bela (Warmbaths) in South Africa's Limpopo Province. At Mingwe Lodge guests have the advantage of the privacy of an intimate lodge but also have the benefits of the extensive facilities of a major game reserve. This includes the use of the sporting facilities, conference facilities, restaurants, bars, entertainment and of course, not forgetting the 12,500 hectare game reserve, which is one of the few reserves in the region with the big 5.
Visitors to the lodge can enjoy all of the excitement of the bush without the worry of malaria or having to travel long distances to reach their destination. Mabalingwe Game Reserve is located within a 2 hour journey from OR Tambo International Airport and the city of Johannesburg. A landing strip, for light aircraft and helicopters is also available for use by visitors.
Wide enchanting walkways usher you into the lodge, and once almost gets the feeling of being in another time and place as the décor empathetically matches the bush theme, from the historic torches (which closely resemble the torches you would see at a survivor's tribal council) to the uniquely designed rooms, bathrooms, bamboo flooring and thatch roofs.
Mingwe lodge consist of a main lodge with four quality furnished individual bedroom units. All units have en-suite luxury bathrooms with bath and showers. King size beds with the finest linen. All units have sliding doors out onto a viewing deck. The main lodge boasts a infinity pool on its main deck, braai facilities, fire pit and lovely deck furniture. You will also have access to a well appointed kitchen with a gas fired stove, microwave, 2 refrigerators, dishwasher and scullery with oodles of cupboard spaces. The kitchen area also features breakfast bar with a granite top. All the equipment necessary to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
The lounge area boast quality furnishings, including a plasma 42" tv with dstv decoder and home theatre. Their is also an open log fireplace fronting onto both the lounge and dining areas.
