Notes

This is an AC 3 rail locomotive. It will not run on DC Track.

Special Note Regarding Locomotives

Where possible I test locomotives and will provide details of their running. Current exceptions are AC such as Märklin, Trix Express etc, as I do not own an AC setup. Same goes for DCC, while it is possible to run a DCC loco on a DC layout, use can potentially affect the DCC chip so best practice is to avoid doing this. Gauges other than HO/OO also currently excluded.

the locomotives I sell are thus either specifically noted as running or not where tested, else if untestable, are Assumed Runners (unless obviously not/scrap). I understand Locomotives are expensive and that should they run in any way other than anticipated can be very disappointing. I do kindly request, from one enthusiast to another that you engage me and we agree on an amicable solution, before escalating to the platform owners or venting your displeasure elsewhere. My assessments can be subjective,  I do also make mistakes. Something I believe is perfectly acceptable may be antitheta to someone else. Please approach me if you are at all dissatisfied with your purchase.

Regarding price

Long time customers may have noticed a sharp increase in item prices. For the sake of transparency, let me explain:

I obtain most of my goods from overseas, Europe mostly. Due to the inexorable devaluation of the rand, goods whose price has remained relatively static overseas have near doubled in terms of cost to land here. This is not just a direct per item cost, but includes postage (which has greatly increased in cost), customs and even bank charges. All are affected as they get charged on a rand value. i.e. Because the model cost me more in rand terms, I get charged more in terms of customs etc.

Then there is BobShop who have changed their shipping policy. Where in the past you bought an item and then postage was added with the buyer and seller determining which method of postage to use, now BobShop has in effect included a portion of postage cost into the listing value.  What this means is that they deduct a portion of postage from the seller.  Example:

I sell a model for R85. BobShop charges the buyer R145, being R85 item value + their shipping charge (R60). Behind the scenes, they don't give me R145. I get R85, less their ~10% fee (R8,55), then on top of that they charge ME R60 for shipping. If I leave a skid mark in the rush to get the parcel sent within a day or so I may get a R30 rebate. So in effect BobShop has collected R90 from buyer and seller to cover courier cost of their chosen courier (buyer and seller don't have much say in this). By doing the maths, I end up with R46,45. Or if life gets in the way and I don't ship in time, I lose the rebate and get R16,45! For an item which may have cost me around R40 or more to land.  So unfortunately, I am obliged to add ~ R30 to each item to defray the hidden mandatory courier costs.
