The MacBook Air is out of warranty, but has an extended warranty on the display - the display was replaced in December at a value of R 6000 and carries an extended guarantee (reason for the repair: a manufacturing fault caused the hinges to dislodge and as a repair the whole display frame and display was replaced with a new part which carries extended warranty).
