Mafia PS2

Mafia for the PlayStation 2 is a third-person, open-world action-adventure game set in the fictional American city of Lost Heaven during the 1930s Prohibition era. The game focuses on a strong narrative, chronicling the rise of a humble cab driver named Tommy Angelo through the ranks of the Salieri crime family. 

Gameplay and Features

• Story-Driven Campaign: The core of the game is its cinematic, linear storyline, often praised for its engaging plot and memorable characters, similar to classic mobster films. Missions progress the narrative and include various activities like mob hits, car chases, bootlegging, and bank robberies.
• Open World Environment: Players explore over 12 square miles of a simulated city, complete with simulated traffic, authentic 1930s architecture, and period-appropriate vehicles.
• Period Authenticity: The game is known for its detailed historical setting, featuring over 60 realistically modeled cars (though renamed) and a dozen era-specific weapons, such as Tommy guns and shotguns.
• "Free Ride" Mode: In addition to the main campaign, a "Free Ride" mode is available, allowing players to explore the city without mission constraints and unlock bonus cars.
• Realistic Elements: Compared to contemporaries like Grand Theft Auto, Mafia offered a more realistic approach, with a challenging difficulty level where even a few bullets could be fatal and specific rules like having to stop for red lights to avoid police attention in the original game design.
