LARGE AND DRAMATIC NATURAL GREEN AMETHYST SOLID STERLING SILVER RING. 925

This bold, solid and rather dramatic piece of jewellery features an array of natural green amethyst gemstones. In the very centre of the ring, the jeweller has set a large, pear faceted green amethyst with a total of 0,57 carats, claw set in sterling silver. This focal point is framed by a small row of round cut cubic zirconia. This in turn is framed by an entire surround of marquis faceted pale green amethyst all vertically claw set in sterling silver - 18 stones in total - and yet another four stones, two on either shoulder. The green amethyst gemstones total 2,33 carats. The openwork between the gemstones adds to the interest of the design. The ring head measures 25mm long  x 20 mm across and reaches 7mm above the finger. The cage-like structure of elongated claws that hold the gemstones is supported on a simple medium sterling silver shank. The jeweller has lightly oxidised the solid sterling silver to create dramatic dark contrast to the silvery green of the amethyst. The piece bears the 925 hallmark indicating sterling silver, and weighs a hefty 7,52 grams.
