MAGNIFICENT PERSIAN / ORIENTAL TRIBAL HAND KNOTTED VINTAGE? AMAZING COLOURS HAMADAN? AFGHAN?

These magical rugs continue to enthrall me and sometimes they are

very difficult to part with. When I think of the painstaking knotting

and the labour of love it takes to create them. Too incredible.

To add to this is the incredible colours which each having meaning in

themselves and then the patterns also have something to say.  I

would think this a tribal piece. Cannot narrow down the origins. Could it

be a Hamadan, Shiraz, Afghan?. Please view all photos to appreciate

This beauty has less knots per square so is a thicker & plush. It measures

with the scanty fringe approximately length 190cm and the width 121

It is nicely sized.

Geometric patterns central medallion with a larger one surrounding

it. The colours in the rug are striking and contrast well. It is a

symmetrical piece as each quarter is the same. Red: Beauty, wealth

courage Blue: Power or Force  Orange: Humility & Piety  White or

ivory: Purity. The diamond symbols are for Woman, and there is

what looks like a lotus flower which is immortality.
