347 gm of sterling silver Height: 12.3 cm Lip diameter: 8 cm Base diameter: 10.5 cm On the front there is an "R" engraved in Gothic Calligraphic Script On the back "La Bonne Heure" and the date 1/8/69. The interior is gilded (faded) with a few small tarnish spots on the base. The surface finish is highly polished. The makers mark, EV for Emil Viner, and the date mark, Z for 1967, are clear and bright. The crown, for Sheffield, and the Lion, for Sterling Silver, are partially rubbed but clear enough for there to be no doubt that this is a sterling silver piece made in Sheffield, England. This tankard has been well used. Evidence is the rubbing of the marks as well as the following: * the circumference of the rim has been slightly pushed in * the base rim has a dent (hardly noticeable when right way up but more noticeable when viewed from the bottom) Please view pictures.
