Make-up: 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 50% Merlot.

Sweet fruit with a cranberry and crunchy blackcurrant style on the nose. There is also some creamy, peppered oak apparent. A nicely textured palate, some substance and extract too. Fresh, crunchy fruit with a lean to moderate texture, all sitting together very nicely. There is a soft background layer of tannin though, with a slightly charcoaly character. Moderate acidity. It has a slightly unfocused finish but there is still some nice style here, the crisp cranberry and stony red fruits accompanied by a little violet.

I was lucky enough to attend the serving dinner and tasted 2 kinds of Castel dry reds which received gold and silver prizes respectively in the international alcohol appreciation competition.
And this 2004 Dry Red from Chateau Barreyres was just the one which obtained gold prize. Now what is the fabulous action for this wine?
Open brown plastic cap and pull oak cork, the aroma has sent "devil" attraction.
Cup-hanging is slim and equal with certain intensity as girl's happy tears sliding down the face. Deep ruby red as the light at night, which is a drawing, a desire, an enthusiastic challenge, a kind of worry difficult to talk about. We must open it and let it be out.
Heavy tannin, strong and massive, intense and powerful. Attenders began to cheers to each other, so did I. But as a matter of fact I didn't drink it at all because I don't want to destroy the tasting at not the first-rank stage. Going on shaking the glass and waiting. It was really pity that the wine was drank half at this time by them who don't understand wine very much. But now this wine gave people more mystery.
Sip one mouth, I begin to taste.
The first mouth let me feel strong aroma. At moment, alcohol released. Tannin is well-balanced with framework. The nose expressed blackcurrant, pepper, vanilla, olive, leather, cedar... All these flavors give prominence to "Cabernet Sauvignon". Density is strong at my tongue sides. Smooth, bitter and sweet but not astringent. Notes of adaptable aromas of wood and fruit.
Further, the nose is pleasant with light, sweet fruit flavor which can not be given by Cabernet Sauvignon. The elegant and attractive characteristics are Merlot---a grand variety with charming glamour.
This dry red wine was made by Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon by 50% respectively. I will express my praise to it: gorgeous and elegant, strict and solid, abundant and steady, overtones finish, store longer will be better.
Castel Group also prepaired dishes to the wine: first was roast suckling pig which was fresh and delicate. This is an perfect match. The western beef, steak...One guest told me that beef was the most match because of no fishy but just delicious flavor.
At this gentle night, the buildings in
Don't mention Lafite, Latour, Margaux...With its looks and packaging, you will really want to have this wine too.
