Majolica tureen by Secla Portugal mid 20th Century

Offered for sale is a large and decorative  majolica lidded  tureen made by the Portuguese ceramic manufactory Secla and dating to the mid 20th Century . The bowl and lid are decorated with a motif of overlapping nasturium leaves graduated in size to compliment the shapes of the lid and bowl. The lid has a scalloped bee-hive shaped  aperture for a ladle or large spoon. The tureen is glazed in a pale cream base colour with the veined  leaves in graduated shades of dark sherwood green . The base has stamped marked for the manufacturer Secla and Portugal.
