Make or Donate… Support our “Hip to be Square”
Blankets of Hope Project
Generosity does not have to be about giving money and does not have to break the bank either. It can start with something small.
We’re giving you the opportunity to bring hope and warmth into the lives of children (birth to 18yrs) who desperately need it at this time.
YOU CAN DONATE R50 or MAKE & SEND US YOUR KNITTED/CROCHETED SQUARES
TO DONATE R50 – PLEASE COMPLETE THE ORDER TODAY! Your donation will buy wool and needles and one of our many volunteers will do the knitting on your behalf.
TO MAKE A SQUARE (or a few!) – Follow the pattern below and send us any number of knitted squares and help us create Blankets of Hope for destitute families and children in need. Each square must measure 20 x 20cm (you can send us crocheted squares as well)
This project emanates out of a dire need to address the plight and growing needs of orphans and vulnerable children in our very own South African communities.
We have a number of eager, committed local community members ready to join together all the knitted or crocheted squares generously donated by you, into warm comfy blankets and distribute these to families and children who desperately need them.
Each blanket is made up with 96 squares. The finished blanket measures 1.5 x 2m
Please send all finished squares to:
