Malachi Smith, born and still resident in South Africa, was trained by a Dutch painter at the age of 10 after several years of showing both artistic flair and an enduring love for drawing and painting.

After completing high-school, he had a brief stint as a reporter followed by several years in the commercial arena.  He felt his artistic talent being stifled and eventually made the break in his mid-twenties to devote his full attention to his true calling.  He has never looked back.  When looking at some of his earlier works, it becomes apparent that his development has been astounding, as if inspired.

The variety of his works is matched by a depth of understanding  which is apparent by his unique interpretation of each subject. One is often tempted to liken an artist's style to another more established artist. Malachi's style, however, is his own.
