MALACHI SMITH

On offer a signed print by renowned South African painter "Malachi Smith" signed in pencil in the bottom right corner.  The print unfortunately has a rather prominent spot of foxing.  It is beautifully framed in a wooden frame and triple mounting, behind glass.  It measures 32.5x29cm (with frame) and 11x8cm (print only).

Malachi Smith (1948) is considered as one of SA's top ranking artists and one of the most versatile living artists in the world.  He was educated by the Irish Monks at de La Salle College in the Cape port of East London.  After leaving the Naval Academy he worked for the Daily Dispatch for a short while as a reporter but soon embarked on his career as a dedicated artist, which has earned him a reputation of high international respect.  In 1886 Malachi Smith participated in an international exhibition held in the Super Dome of New Orleans, USA.  This was the introduction to his now famous "Miniature Signed Print Collection".
