DESCRIPTION AND CONDITION
DESCRIPTION	This is a framed original watercolour painting by the late Grand Master South African painter MALCOLM (MALACHI) SMITH which depicts a lovely scene of a cottage in the veld. It has been newly framed in a top quality gilded wooden frame with inner frame, mounted and protected by glass. The framing shows the artwork off to it's maximum effect. The framed painting measures 390 x 460 mm and the artwork alone measures 115 x 175 mm. The artist signed the painting at bottom right and it is undated, but dates from the 1970s. You can see this masterful artwork in the image above. Also please have a look at the 3 images which follow for more detail and if unsure of anything please ask a question.
CONDITION	The painting is in excellent condition and can be hung as is.

NOTES
I do not have to tell any collector / investor of South African art what has happened to the prices of Malcolm Smith's artworks since his death two years ago. Even though he was a prolific artist his original artworks have escalated in value and very few original paintings can be found on the market. This is not surprising since he can truly be classified as a master of his craft and is right there amongst the top South African artists such as Erich Mayer and Richard Rennie in the genre of water colourists. His creations can only rise in value as time goes by and now that there will be no more produced. Here is a lovely painting offered at a very reasonable price. Not only is this a very nice addition to your collection of South African art, but also an excellent investment.
