Hard cover, published in 1961 by Jonathan Cape, London, 344 pages, illustrated with sketches and photographs. Book in very good condition with gilt lettering to spine. The jacket is shelf rubbed and chaffed at corners and spine top end. Dated address and signature of previous owner on front end page. Originally in German, English translation by J. Maxwell Brownjohn. The author surveys what is known of the religious beliefs of prehistoric man, comparing it with the beliefs of still existent primitive peoples. The conclusion is that primitive man believed in One Supreme God!! No overseas shipping.
