The gold medallion features Mandela'™s profile on one side and the distinctive Liliesleaf Farmhouse on the other, with the inscription, place of liberation; A place of inspiration. Each Mandela Liliesleaf 1oz Gold Medallion is displayed in a uniquely designed box that aims to reflect the contemporary and modern museum that Liliesleaf has become.

Liliesleaf became the hideout and meeting place of many prominent freedom fighters including Nelson Mandela who lived on the property under the alias of a farm worker by the name of David Motsamayi.
