The set consists of a 2008 Proof R5 and a commemorative medallion with a half-ounce .999 gold inner (15.553 gram) and an 8.9 gram sterling silver outer.

There is also a unique timepiece, a Swiss movement pocket watch featuring the official 2008 uncirculated Mandela 90th Birthday Celebration coin.

Only 200 of these pocket watches were manufactured.
