Did belong to a library before and has their usual goodies (and then some) - 209 pages - Published by Ernest Stanton Johannesburg in 1980 - 1st South African edition - Book and wrapper are poor and much read but still readable - The wrapper is like the one shown, which I googled, but not in that good a condition = Lots of nasty photo illustrations - I actually think enyone who shoots animals should die a horrible death - (But even a vegetarian old auntie needs to make a living) >>> The story of Harry Manners, one of the greatest elephant hunters of all time. - "Harry shot his first elephant when still a teenager using an old 10.75mm Mauser rifle, and he was so successful - the elephant had tusks of over eighty pounds per side - this set him on his course for life. He began his career in 1937 and continued until 1953 when commercial ivory hunting was closed in Mozambique. During the years Harry was a professional elephant hunter, he shot approximately 1,000 specimens. Among his many magnificent trophies was an incredible pair of tusks that weighed 185 and 183 pounds, the fourth largest African tusks ever recorded. One of the great elephant-hunting classics of the post-World War II era." (Someone reviewed it thus) * Hunting * Elephants *
