Commonly known as: Maranta Lemon Lime / Lemon Lime Prayer Plant
Botanical names: Maranta leuconeura 'Lemon Lime'
The Maranta Lemon Lime is a vibrant, trailing prayer plant with lush, oval leaves patterned in bright lemon-lime veins against deep green backgrounds. True to its "prayer plant" name, the leaves fold upright in the evening, adding a touch of movement and fascination to your indoor rooms. This variety trails beautifully, making it ideal for hanging baskets or letting it cascade from shelves. They can do in just about any of your rooms that you want to put it in. Propogating these plants is also fairly easy and it's always helpful to use some rooting hormone if you want to take a cutting to root them.
🌞 Light: Bright, indirect light will keep your Lemon Lime at its most vibrant. It can tolerate medium light but avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch the leaves.
💧 Water: Keep the soil consistently moist, but never soggy. Water when the top layer of soil just begins to dry. This plant appreciates humidity, so misting or using a pebble tray can help it thrive.
🌡 Temperature: Prefers a warm environment between 1826°C. Protect from cold draughts and sudden temperature drops.
🪴 Soil: For optimal drainage and healthy roots, you can use our premixed Aroid Mix, or create your own potting mix using Barks Unlimited Potting Soil combined with Perlite.
🌱 Feeding: During spring and summer, feed every 46 weeks with a balanced indoor plant fertiliser. Avoid overfeeding in autumn and winter.
Pruning & Maintenance: Pinch off leggy growth to encourage fuller, bushier plants. Remove any yellowing leaves to keep the plant looking lush.
🪴 Repotting: Repot every 12 years in spring using fresh soil. You can also propagate by gently dividing the plant at the roots.
