Marble Stone Block Musket Bullet Mould - Rare Vintage Handmade.

A very rare vintage multi-bullet mould made out of natural stone and comes in two halves. There are two wooden pins sticking out of the centre of one half of the mould with two corresponding holes in the middle of the second half. These pins were used to make sure that the two halves of the mould were properly centred. The two halves of the mould are brought together and then molten lead is poured through the three holes along the edge. The diameters of the nine balls are approx. 15mm (x3) and12,5mm (x6).

Spherical lead balls were in use for a very long time between the 1200s and 1800s.

Description: Greyish natural stone which is handmade (the shape of square is irregular) and has 9bullet casting cavities. Three of the outer edges of the mould have a type of shark tooth design engraved into it.

Size of mould: approx. 8 x 6cmand 4,5cm high.

Weight:520 gram.
