On offer this beautiful and valuable Pastel of Cape Cottages by South African and internationally

renowned artist Marc Poisson. The Pastels are framed behind glass in a double mounting, all in excellent condition.

Born in South Africa in 1952, Poisson displayed a keen interest in art from a very early age and went on to become one of the country's leading pastel artists. He is known for the striking manner in which he captures the effects of light and shade in his subjects. Poisson held his first group exhibition in 1977 with Wallace Hulley, one of South Africa's leading water colourists. He continued to hold annual exhibitions in major centres and also exhibited in many group exhibitions, including the "Top 40 Realists" exhibition, held in JHB in 1989. In addition to being represented in galleries throughout SA, Poisson's work has been sought after for many private collections internationally, including Britain, Ireland, Canada and Japan. Currently living in Sydney, Poisson was accepted as a member of the ART Society of NSW in 1989 and also exhibits his work in various galleries in NSW as well as fulfilling overseas commissions.
