DESCRIPTION | Who on earth was ARNOLD COCOZZA? - well he was MARIO LANZA (1921 - 1959) before he changed his name to the much more romantic sounding Mario Lanza. Many people think that Lanza was Italian like Caruso and Gigli, but he was American from an Italian immigrant family. Most music aficionados agree that he was 'the best tenor that ever lived'. Unfortunately he had a problem over indulging in alcohol and fine cuisine which most likely led to his early death at age of only 38. On offer here is a collection of 5 LP vinyl albums with the music of this great artist which just about covers the spectrum of his music. The tracks on them range from the intense religious 'Ave Maria' to the frivolous romp 'Drinking Song' to the very romantic 'Be My Love'. He sings in Italian and English and with choirs as well as in duets with Sopranos such as Elizabeth Doubleday. A collage image of the front sleeves of the 5 LPs appears above and 5 images of the sleeves of the individual albums follow. Ask a question if you still need further info after perusing this listing. |
CONDITION | All vinyl of the 5 albums is in great condition and every LP plays through with very good sound. The sleeves are also generally very good. For more info on this please read the descriptions under the images below. |
