This results in a noticeable increase in the saturation of skies and foliage, as well as clearer imagery when photographing in hazy conditions. This filter features anti-static and water- and oil-repellent coatings to protect the filter from dust, dirt, and moisture and to also aid in cleaning. Contributing to reducing reflections, the optical glass substrate has a blackened outer ring that limits flare and ghosting for improved contrast. Additionally, the thin filter ring design is ideally suited for use with wide-angle lenses and features multiple light-blocking ridges and a satin finish to provide a surface reflectivity of less than 0.6% to further reduce the likelihood of flare and ghosting. The male threads of the filter ring are also coated with Teflon to help eliminate filter jamming and promote easier installation and removal from lenses.
