Marvel's Avengers for the PS4 is a third-person, action-adventure game that combines an original, cinematic single-player story with optional online co-operative gameplay. Players take on the roles of iconic heroes like Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor as they try to reassemble the disbanded team after a global catastrophe.

• Original Story: The narrative begins on "A-Day," a celebration that turns disastrous. The Avengers are blamed and disband, leading a new character, Kamala Khan (Ms. Marvel), to uncover a conspiracy by the corporation A.I.M. (Advanced Idea Mechanics) and attempt to reunite the heroes.
• Gameplay Mechanics: The game features a fluid combat system that incorporates chaining attacks, dodging, and using unique heroic abilities and skills. Players can unlock powerful skills and different outfits (cosmetics) to customize their heroes' look and playstyle.
• Single-Player & Co-op: The main story campaign ("Reassemble Campaign") is a single-player experience, while "Warzone" missions can be played solo or with up to three other players online.
• Post-Launch Content: The game was designed as a "live-service" title, offering free post-launch content, including new playable heroes (like Black Panther, Spider-Man, and Hawkeye) and story expansions at no additional cost to those who owned the core game.
