It has a 75 mils thick solid layer of pure quality gold compared to the normal 5-7 mils of gold plating. 12kt GF is the most common stamp you will find on gold-filled jewelry. 10kt and 14kt are also common caratages. Gold filled items, even with daily wear, can last up to 30 years.
